Summary/Essential Functions:

Experience:

  • 10 years + Heavy Civil/Mining experience in a leadership role
  • 15 years + Construction Experience 
  • Dealing with regulatory entities
  • 5 years QA/QC experience
  • Engineering Degree (or similar relevant tertiary qualification).
  • Project Management qualifications (e.g. PMP)
  • Must possess the ability to apply common sense or logic to a problem-solving solution
  • Able to troubleshoot issues
  • Efficient at writing detailed reports, estimates and budgets
  • Advanced professional report writing

Notes:

  • Role will be split about 50/50 between field and office
  • Role would have 2 project engineers reporting to him (small team, so we do not have a ‘civil engineering team’ that does this work for you)
  • Construction activities completed by contractors, so looking for strong contract management and earthmoving experience
  • Must have detailed experience in heavy civil/geotechnical construction (civil engineer or geotechnical background) with focus on soil characteristics and fill placement,
  • Have a PE or able to obtain a PE would be an advantage
  • Experience in Geomembrane liner placement
  • The role is not a technical design role, it is a doing role, here’s the design – go build it.

Upcoming projects to emphasize the key skills:

  • Construct lined water ponds and associated pumping infrastructure
  • Tailings dam downstream wall lifts and geomembrane placement
  • PAG (potential acid generating) rock storage lined facility (similar to a leach pad) fully geomembrane lined facility with underdrain piping infrastructure and gravity feed to ponds
