Title: Equipment Operator

Location: South Carolina

Compensation: DOE

Summary – Our client is a mid-tier, multinational gold producer with significant operating, development and exploration experience. We are helping them to identify Equipment Operators for their surface gold operation in South Carolina. This person will carry out loading and/or hauling operations with all types of materials in all weather conditions by day and night; within safety requirements and accurate delivery of material to assigned dump location.


They will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

 

  • Pre-start checks, start-up, park-up, shutdown and communication procedures carried out to manufacturers’ and/or site requirements
  • Safe operating practices, including operating controls, monitoring gauges and systems, conducting safety checks and use of two-way radio
  • Equipment operation within vehicle limitations
  • Ensure the machine is operated in a manner that maximizes tire and equipment life

Qualifications/Experience, etc.:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in an open pit mining production environment including operating one or more of the following pieces of equipment:
  • Caterpillar 777/785, Caterpillar 6290 & 5150, Caterpillar 14M/16M, Caterpillar D9T, Caterpillar 992K/993K & Hitachi EX1900
  • Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
  • Must be able and willing to work 12 hour rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
