Robert founded MRC in 1984, and resides in Albuquerque, NM. As a working, hands-on President he has responsibility for the overall strategic direction, human capital and business objectives of The MRC Group of Companies. MRC provides highly focused and client centered consulting services in four (4) critical areas: Mining, Mineral & Chemical Search, Health, Safety and Environmental Search, HR Management Search and HR Business and Services Consulting. MRC's associates, now numbering over 20, are all seasoned professionals with extensive backgrounds in Mining, Human Resources and Consulting. Robert has provided executive search services for HR professionals across industry at all levels and senior level searches for mining industry clients, large and small, for about 30 years. Prior to 1977 Robert worked in Philadelphia with major corporations such as Bell Tel, Scott Paper, GE Aerospace, and several major banks as an administrator/program manager for the largest Employee Assistance Program (EAP) on the East coast. Robert received a B.A. in Psychology and Literature from Columbia University with post-graduate studies at The New School for Social Science and Research.
James Sanwick joined MRC in 1998. He has over 30 years experience in both general management and as a HR executive. During his career he has worked in both the public and private sector in everything from start ups to large multinational companies, with a decade working for one of the world's largest mining conglomerates. He has also operated his own consulting group doing organization development for such diverse organizations as Dynegy, M&M Mars, Bay Area Rapid Transit, Eckerd Drugs, Johnson & Johnson and PE Biosystems. Although involved in HR and Mining for a large part of his career he has also worked in finance and venture capital, education, and business strategy and structure. James has worked with clients in the US, Canada, China, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South Africa. James holds a Bachelor and Masters degree as well as numerous post graduate certifications in HR and management development processes. A well known speaker on the topics of high performance organizations, creativity and communications, James chaired the "High Performance Teams" seminars for a number of years for Clemson University. His biography has appeared in "Who’s Who in America" and "Who's Who in the World." He works out of the Lake Tahoe office where his family has lived for the last eleven years.
Mark Sander is a strategy, performance, and business development leader with more than twenty years experience generating value through organizational transformation and growth acceleration in mining and manufacturing. He is known for speeding companies on their journeys to bold futures. What he does best is to create shared commitment as a basis for accelerating critical thinking, action, and learning amongst company leaders. He then catalyzes results across the company by aligning planning, operational, business development, finance, human capital, and information systems, coaching leaders to greater effectiveness inside this strategically focused environment.
Mark has led or co-led three company transformations that have created and locked in measurable shareholder value. The first was Magma Copper, where, as Director of Strategic activities he created the strategic planning, ore reserves, R&D, and very successful exploration programs, as well as teamed on two successful acquisitions and integrations. The second was BHP Copper. As VP Strategy and Planning, he revolutionized the company’s understanding of the copper business, leading to a major restructuring ($2 billion in assets) and co-led the resulting asset sale process. The third engagement was with Greene, Tweed, a manufacturer of engineered elastomeric, thermoplastic, and composite components for diverse, high technology industries such as aerospace, semiconductor, defense, oilfield, biomedical, and fluid handling. As “Bold Future” Instigator & Coordinator and later Director of Strategic Planning, Performance, & Learning, he led the breakthrough initiative that shifted the company from a $180 million/yr business that had reached the limits of its small company heritage to a rapidly growing, $300 million organization with the strategy, people, and processes in place to sustain profitable growth into the future.
Mark majored in Geology and Economics at Amherst College. He earned an MS in Geostatistics and a PhD in Ore Deposits and Exploration from Stanford University.
Michael is a senior engineer with over 20 years of experience. His expertise is recruiting top talent in the Engineering, Mineral/Chemical and HS & E areas for the mining industry. Michael is a Senior Consultant with MRC's Mining Search Group and is located West of Fort Wayne, IN. Michael held management and specialist positions for a variety of corporations in the US including such companies as Pneumatic and Hydralic Devices, Inc, Delphi Automotive Systems, ITT Industries, Rockwell Collins Avionics, Tricad Engineering, Cummins Engine Company, and Schlumberger CAD/CAM. Michael holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue, interned with Meissner & Wurst in Stuttgart, Germany and is semi-fluent in German.
Don is a Senior HR Management Executive with over 30 years of experience in the mining industry. His expertise includes Strategic Human Resource Management, Reorganizations, Operations, Development of New Properties, Compensation and Benefits Plans & Integration, Community Realtions Programs, Culture and Change Management, and International Merger & Acquisition Programs. Don worked for major corporations, both in the US and internationally, including such companies as Apollo Gold Corporation, Getchell Gold Corporation, NewMont Mining/Gold Companies, Atlantic Richfiled Company, and Anaconda Mining Company. Don is currently Senior Consultant with MRC’s HR Consulting Group where he manages a team of highly qualified associates across the United States. Don holds a M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix, is a graduate of the Executive Human Resources Program at Penn State University and received his B.S. Degree in Business (Industrial Relations Major) from the University of Arizona. Don speaks fluent Spanish, and has worked in the US, Canada, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and Brazil.
Tom LeBlanc, Senior Consultant - MRC HR Consulting Services
Tom is a Senior HR Management Executive with more than 35 years experience, 15 of which was in the mining industry. His expertise includes Compensation & Benefits, Strategic Change Management, Organizational Performance, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Employee/Labor Relations. Tom has served in a variety of corporate, division and field assignments in HR, most recently as the VP/HR for Samsonite Corporation. His background includes working with various companies including Amoco, Georgia-Pacific, Corporate Express, Cyprus Minerals, Allied Chemical and Agrium in the U.S., as well as internationally. Tom is currently a Senior Consultant with MRC’s HR Consulting Group in Centennial, Colorado. He holds an M.B.A. from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a B.S. in Management from L.S.U.
Knute Sorenson, Ph.D., Senior Consultant – MRC HR Consulting Services
Dr. Sorenson is an Executive HR Professional with more than 30 years experience with about ten years as a consultant. His expertise includes Business Improvement, Disaster Recovery, Quality Programs, Strategic Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Human Performance Improvement, Succession Planning, Leadership Development, and Executive Coaching. Dr. Sorenson worked for major corporations, in the US, including such companies as Lee Ranch Coal Mine, Santa Fe Pacific Gold, Public Services Company of New Mexico (PNM), Lockheed-Martin, and Countrywide Mortgage. He is currently a Senior Consultant with MRC’s HR Consulting Group in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of New Mexico in Organizational Learning, a M.A. from Webster University in Management and Human Resources Development, B.S. from the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology in Mathematics, and a B.S. from the New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology in Computer Science.
Croft Edwards, Senior Consultant – MRC HR Consulting Services
A Professional Certified Coach (PCC), Croft has more than 7 years of HR and Organizational Development consulting experience. As a senior consultant Croft has worked for major corporations, including such companies as BHP Billiton New Mexico Coal Operations, Stillwater Mining Company, Hecla Mining Company, Lee Ranch Coal, Lockheed Martin, and Sandia National Laboratories. He is the VP of the MRC Consulting Group in Cincinnati, OH. His areas of expertise include Executive and Management Coaching, Performance Management, and Leadership Development. Prior to focusing in the HR consulting and coaching arena, Croft served on active duty as a US Army officer, primarily in leadership positions. He still serves in the United States Army Reserve as an Instructor and Adjunct Professor at the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS. Croft will complete his M.B.A. from Auburn University in December of 2007. He holds a M.A. in Military Studies from the American Military University, a B.A. in Financial Administration from Michigan State University. Croft is also a graduate of the Naval War College, as well as from the Army Command and General Staff College. In addition, Croft is a certified Green Belt in Lean / Six Sigma.
Patrick Reilly, Senior Consultant – MRC HR Consulting Services
Patrick worked as a Senior HR Manager with an emphasis on Training & Development, as well as, Organizational Development, before starting his consulting career. He has more than 15 years of experience as a senior consultant. Patrick's expertise includes Executive Coaching, Oganizational Development and Leadership Development Programs. He worked for major corporations, both in the US and internationally, including such companies as Applied Materials, AT&T, Cisco, GE, HP, Kaiser, and PG&E. Patrick is currently a Senior Consultant with MRC’s HR Consulting Group in San Fransisco, California. He holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Development from the J.F. Kennedy University, a B.A. in Psychology from Tufts University. Patrick is a certified Executive Coach and holds a Master Executive Coaching Certification.
Marc Grimm, President – MRC HR Consulting Services
As a senior consultant Marc has worked for major corporations, both in the US and in Europe, including such companies as MineARC Systems America, Celanese, Lockheed-Martin, and Countrywide Mortgage. Marc has held HR positions in the Banking & Finance and Health Care industries, including Director of Educational Programs, HR Manager and Leadership Development Consultant. He has more than 10 years of fast-track, domestic and international HR and Organizational Development consulting experience. Marc is currently President of MRC’s HR Consulting Services based in Dallas, TX, where he manages a team of highly qualified associates across the United States. Marc studied English, education, and political science at the University of Heidelberg, and holds a Masters degree in Training and Development from the University of Koblenz-Landau. Marc speaks fluent German, and has worked in the US, Canada, The Netherlands, and Germany.
Keri Stewart, Senior Consultant – MRC HR Consulting Services
Keri offers over 20 years of management experience and expertise in the areas of training, curriculum development and employee development. As a consultant she has worked with national and international clients, including Lockheed Martin, Sandia National Laboratories, Bausch&Lomb, and Holy Corporation. She is a certified TRACOM Social Style facilitator. Keri is a Senior Consultant with MRC's HR Consulting Services in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
