Our client is seeking an experienced executive with a strong technical and entrepreneurial background for the position of President & GM to bring up a mine, mill and associated infrastructure. This individual will develop and implement a strategic business plan and manage the day to day operations. The successful candidate will possess 15-20 or more years of operating, management and leadership experience at an executive level over exploration, mine development and operations on an international basis. This individual will have strong market skills and contacts in the mining/financial community. This individual will embrace and exercise the necessary array of executive competencies and skills necessary to manage and champion the growth of the Company.
Your communication skills will be superior and you will be equally at home on site or in the board room and competent at presenting to the financial community and other stakeholders. Experience in the guidance, development and management of mine operations, including bringing new operations into production, is a requirement. Thus, this role requires a strong mix of hands-on and management capability. Candidates will need to have a university degree in engineering or related field. Ideally this individual will speak French and English and have some significant experience working in Africa.
