Summary: Our client is a gold and silver mining company focused on growth in North America. Their most advanced project is an underground narrow vein, high grade gold mine located in Western Montana. We are working with them to identify a General Manager Mining for this property.

The General Manager is responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Overseeing and managing the underground operations
  • Design of underground mine development, blasting systems, ventilation systems, ground support systems, production stopes and haulage systems
  • Mine planning activities for both short term and long term
  • Resource modeling, resource and reserve estimates
  • Conducting safe and efficient mine development, stoping operations, ventilation, backfilling and related activities.
  • Coordinating ore control activities, such as sorting of ore types and tracking ore stockpile quantities
  • Ensuring the preparation of clearly written monthly reports and other documentation on required frequencies.
  • Preparing capital and operating cost estimates
  • Managing operating budgets
  • Maintaining a strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications/Experience etc:

  • BS Degree in Mining or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in underground hard rock mining
  • Minimum of 8-10 years on site experience in narrow vein mining & back filling
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Capable of utilizing latest computer & software technologies
  • Supervisory experience with both technical and non technical personnel
  • Should be eligible to work in North America
