Robert K Schultz
I founded MRC Corp. in 1984 after working in executive search with two other firms for about seven years in Colorado and New Mexico. After growing up in NYC and working in Philadelphia and Denver, I’ve chosen to reside in NM – ‘The Land of Enchantment’, a welcome base of operations.
I’m privileged to have recognized the opportunity to work with the mining community worldwide. As a working, hands-on manager I’ve had the responsibility for the overall strategic direction, human capital and business objectives of MRC Corp. Most importantly however, is my appreciation and respect for the industry, its challenges and its people. It has been and continues to be my pride and my reward to have a business that acts as a vehicle to engage and connect the people and the companies I’ve had the good fortune to work with for 40 years.
MRC’s highly accomplished mining associates live in Albuquerque New Mexico, Denver and Colorado Springs Colorado and Hilton Head South Carolina with a combined mining search/consulting experience base of over 120 years.
Corporate Vice President
I’ve had the good fortune of working with my Father, Robert Schultz and MRC for most of my life. I was quite young when I started collecting resumes from the mail and fax machine and organized them for our Search Consultants. Eventually, it was my job to answer phones, sort annual reports, and code resumes. Often Robert would have me tag along on a business trip, where everyone always asked if I was “keeping him in line”, a question I still get to this day! Although, I hadn’t planned on working with MRC as a career, I am thankful to have has this remarkable opportunity and orientation to our business and the Mining industry.
Officially, I have worked with MRC since 2001 in a variety of roles; beginning as an Intern and HR Search Consultant, while attending the University of New Mexico in pursuit of my B.B.A in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. I continued my education and went on to Arizona State University and obtained an M.B.A., and have since worked as a Mining Search Consultant and as MRC’s Corporate Vice President. I help to lead the strategic direction and tactical initiatives of our organization – to develop strong personal and professional relationships with our clients and candidates to ensure the success of our engagements within the broad spectrum of the mining space that we work globally.
