Attributes:

  • The candidate’s background should include significant roles and responsibilities in gold heap leach facilities.
  • The ideal candidate has experience troubleshooting production problems in heap leach recovery performance and is well versed in the conditions and variables that affect gold recovery from any specific heap.
  • University degree in a relevant field such as  mining engineer, mill/metallurgist, geotechnical
  • The candidate should have about 10 years of heap experience and understand the interpersonal dynamics of the heap operating teams so that he can work effectively with those teams.
  • Individual must be mature enough to influence others by persuasion rather than by dictate
  • Collaborative approach with management and ability to work with staff-level management.
  • Should have a ‘client service’ attitude; some work experience as a consultant with clients that can be referenced is ideal.
  • Able to tolerate some levels of ambiguity as we are a new, emerging company. Comfortable working outside of the big, brand-name mining companies.
  • Happy and sane. Cooperative and respectful approach: devoid of ‘business function’ chauvinism.
  • Understanding and credibility in all disciplines around HL operations:
    • Geology
    • Logistics
    • Equipment
    • Geotechnical
    • Hydrometallurgy
  • Ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all levels and all disciplines within the client organization
  • Credibility with operating and technical management and personnel
  • Energetic and motivated self-starter with a pragmatic approach

 

Role:

  1. Will evaluate heap metallurgical balances by examining mine records, drilling samples, verbal conversations with mine personnel, and work with outside ERI vendors to characterize zones within heaps that have underleached.
  2. Will oversee drilling programs and work with outside vendors to determine the impact of our remedial recovery technology and method on a heap.
  3. Will be an integral part of the business development team and will interface with technical personnel at prospects to ascertain their technical needs and work with us to develop a compelling project rationale.
  4. Oversight and guidance in respect of HL operations, mine constraints, procedures and safety issues relating to field operations
  5. Technical guidance related to chemical, geotechnical and hydrometallurgical impacts of PLI
  6. Provide technical sales support to the business development team in client meetings and communications
  7. Provide technical support to the project planning and field operations management and personnel
  8. Working with other technical personnel in the business and third parties, further develop the process capability and intellectual property
  9. Become skilled in all aspects of the project implementation:  ERI survey, interpretation, well-field design, drilling, hydro-fracturing

  2. Technical sales content and communication
  3. Process and IP development
