Manager Mine Network

Summary: Our client is a top ranked mining company with operations worldwide. Well placed in the buoyant Australian Coal market, they are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to take up this key role in their Longwall Mine development team. Reporting directly to the COO – Longwall Innovation & Development, this person will assist in identifying and developing opportunities to optimize across all of their underground Longwall operations.

The Manager Mine Network will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

• Research potential solutions and develop business cases up to pre-feasibility level for new concepts such as remote control for control and monitoring underground
• Lead project teams when required
• Identify opportunities to optimize across a network of mines
• Support the President of Longwall Development  by providing appropriate research data
• Liaise and build strong relationships throughout the company
• Conceptualize customized technology to suit the company’s Longwall operations and assist in developing such technology to an operational stage
• Collaborate with academic and technology partners to research new cutting-edge technology

Qualifications/Experience etc:

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) or equivalent
• Minimum of 10 years Longwall operating experience at a mine site
• A track record of building and developing strong relationships within an organization
• A strong interest in emerging technologies and their practical application within the mining industry
