Summary: Our client, a stable and rapidly expanding private company in the silica sand, (servicing the frac sand) market with established strong relationships and long term contracts with the largest, most creditworthy oil and gas service companies in United States and Canada is seeking a dynamic Maintenance Manager for one of their South Western US operations.

The Maintenance Manager would be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Administering the preventive and predictive maintenance programs for stationary plant and mobile equipment.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the ore-processing stream. The ore-processing stream includes mechanical haulage from the mine face, movement of ore by slurry line to the concentrator, processing of concentrate and returning tailings to the disposal areas.
  • Overseeing special project construction or production additions.
  • Responsible for employee compliance with all plant and department operating policies, procedures and safety rules.
  • Directing the operation of the plant facility as established in guidelines set by the company in the areas of safety, quality assurance, reliability and cost.
  • Reviewing, approving and prioritizing work requests for mechanical repairs and all safety and work permits.
  • Helping the plant manager in establishing production goals and annual budgets
  • Recommending capital improvements, and other process improvements as needed
  • Generating reports as required by plant manager
  • Be responsible for employee scheduling i.e. work assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, overtime assignment, and back-up for absent employees

Qualifications/Experience etc:

  • Mechanical, electrical, metallurgical, mining, or related degree preferred.
  • Minimum of ten years of maintenance experience, with at least three years at a supervisory level, maintaining plant and heavy mobile equipment.
  • Good experience creating predictive and preventative maintenance programs
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and machinery functions.
  • Good leadership skills
  • Good understanding of financial management principles
  • Strong computer skills
  • Flexible  working attitude
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship
