Our client, a Toronto Stock Exchange listed company, is seeking an experienced executive with both a technical and entrepreneurial background for the position of VP Corporate Development. This fast growth exploration company has strong in-house technical expertise and a sizable exploration portfolio in Chile. The Company’s copper-gold mega porphyry project also includes early stage assets containing additional gold, copper, uranium and lithium.
This role will be focused on the analysis and communication of the Company’s exploration programs, most notably a strategic business plan to maximize the value of its flagship project. This individual will also be responsible, in concert with their management team, for the review and analysis of the Company’s other exploration targets and the development of strategic alternatives.
The VP Corporate Development will be responsible for providing a significant level of stewardship to the Corporation and will report directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer. This individual is responsible for working with the CFO and other key management personnel for project financing, introduction to potential new investors, participation in road shows and conferences and identifying and negotiating corporate development opportunities within the Company’s mandate. This person will participate in negotiating material agreements relating to the development of the Company properties as well as joint venture agreements, royalty agreements, EPCM contracts, etc. as appropriate.
The successful candidate will possess 15-20 or more years of industry experience. This background should show a mix of keen geological/technical sensitivity as well as strong project management/development experience in order to contribute to the Company’s advancement of its holdings. This individual will be a visionary leader, collaborative team builder who has demonstrated the ability to build and nurture a start-up organization into a more established mid-tier mining platform. English/Spanish language skills are a definite plus.
