Sr. VP Exploration & Corporate Development – FILLED

• Our client is an emerging gold company focused on the acquisition, exploration and development of gold mineral resource properties in proven mineral jurisdictions in South America generally, with significant holdings presently in Brazil and Columbia. As a key member of the management team this individual will be committed to personal excellence and encouraging excellence in others.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implementation of gold and gold/ copper exploration in Archean Greenstones + Porphyry & Epithermal districts, possibly VMS experience
• Budget design and management – on budget and achieving objectives
• Ability to design regional and focused, target oriented programs with a good understanding of what constitutes an economic deposit
• Ability to manage teams of geologists (good personnel + budget management skills/corporate communications skills)
• Entrepreneurial experience in the mining business with a strong understanding of a growing an asset portfolio within the objectives of the corporation
• Generative and creative capabilities in a new district plays
• Provide leadership, vision and requisite experience in generating and evaluating new properties, multiple projects and negotiating property deals

Requirements:

• Reports to CEO (and to the Board)
• the successful candidate will possess 15-20 or more years of exploration/operating and leadership experience at an executive level
• A good network of industry contacts to draw upon
• Track record of discoveries
• South American experience and relevant deposit type experience
• Expected Budget $18-25 million pa
• Location: Toronto with frequent visits to Brazil and Colombia
• Ability to speak Spanish and/or Portuguese
