Summary: Our client is an emerging ASX listed uranium producer, with worldwide assets. We are working with them to identify a CEO/COO for their ISR uranium project located in Wyoming, currently under permitting and final feasibility. Reporting directly to the board, this person will take the project through permitting, project design, detailed engineering, construction and into operation

The CEO/COO will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Establishing corporate policies that set the tone at which the Company conducts its activities, striving for both the highest integrity and professional standards.
  • Providing leadership and support, assisting and liaising with appropriate parties with respect to the direction of all technical, operating and financial aspects of the project
  • Recruiting, developing, retaining and overseeing key senior team members
  • Establishing and implementing policies and procedures for public relations with all parties including federal, state, and local government agencies.
  • Directing and implementing detailed engineering phase – selecting the appropriate firms, consultants
  • Developing a management and organization structure characterized by clearly defined roles for all personnel and assigned responsibilities for all key functions, to ensure the efficient organization of resources.
  • Developing policies and procedures to assure the safety and protection of Company employees, and establishing a monitoring system designed to ascertain the system’s effectiveness.
  • Ensuring compliance with all necessary operational government regulations and reporting is completed within deadlines
  • Represent the company as appropriate with mining/land use entities, and local communities
  • Overseeing and coordinating contractors and consultants working for the company
  • Developing detailed budgets, including capital allocation, for the company for approval by the Board of Directors and then assuring that the company’s accounting system measures actual performance compared to such budgets and an analysis of any differences between actual results and budgets.
  • Interfacing with the Board of Directors on a regular basis and developing a system designed to keep the Board informed on the status of all significant matters or events.
  • Ensuring that all activities are carried out in compliance with the Company’s and health, safety and environmental guidelines, policies, procedures
  • Approving any press releases and other public disclosure documents

Qualifications/Experience etc:

  • BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 15 years mining industry experience with at least 5 years at executive management level
  • Previous experience with project financing, permitting and construction phases of a mining operation.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and management skills are essential
  • Previous experience of mine and mine infrastructure development and operation
  • Proven leadership skills and abilities to assist in attracting and developing staff
  • Hands on management style encouraging participative and entrepreneurial input but with clearly focused business goals aimed at delivering maximum shareholder value
  • Strong presence and presentation skills; equally comfortable dealing with people in the field and in the boardroom.
  • Strong financial and commercial understanding
