Summary

Our client is an emerging gold producer with operations near the town of Nome, Alaska, a world renown placer gold mining area. The company holds title to mining claims covering 11,500 acres around the town of Nome and has total measured, indicated and inferred resources of  2.0Moz according to an independent evaluation. The company has commenced trial mining operations in 2011 and plans to start full scale production in 2012 targeting production of over 12.5koz of gold ramping up to over 20koz in 2013.

Scope of Responsibilities

- Set up and complete the executive and employee team and implement the organizational structure required to attain the Company’s objectives set by the board

- Oversee the Company’s mining and processing operation based on planned performance and profitability KPIs (production, costs etc.)

- Plan, coordinate and direct the work of the mining supervisor

- Perform short- and mid-term mining planning

- Oversee acquisition, maintenance and management of mining equipment

- Coordinate support services and work of other managers

- Oversee construction of new mine and processing facilities and provision of infrastructure

- Oversee land portfolio, leasing, land sales and purchases and permitting process

- Coordinate regular reporting to the Board of Directors

- Overall responsibility for HR  and managing personnel growth

- Overall responsibility for health and safety, environmental sustainability, compliance with relevant regulations

- Manage integration with the local community

- Maintains sound relations with the town of Nome

- Assist with preparation of a feasibility study and expert reports in connection with potential capital raisings, bank financing

- Participate in potential capital raising and bank financing activity

Required Profile for COO Candidate

- BS in Mine Engineering with advanced degree or MBA preferred

- North American candidate within Alaska or with previous experience in Alaska

- A minimum of 15 years experience in the mining industry

- Relevant management experience, GM in a small operation (100 employees) or of smaller

division of larger company

- Strong leadership abilities and execution skills

- Growth-oriented
